The Golly Badge Club

The 'Golly Badge Club chat group' is a club made up of golly badge collectors. Simple eh?

The focus of the group is Robertson's golly badges but, since Robertson's dropped their golly merchandise, we have broadened our expertise to include the new generation of badges that are being produced by enthusiasts. Many of these enthusiasts are already members. Please use the links below to learn more.

The group is open to members worldwide and is FREE. Currently we have members in the USA, Canada and Australia and probably a few other places. Most of the membership is British but we do our best to help overseas members to get brooches or help with their collections.

All members are required to read and abide by the group charter. This simply contains guidelines to make everyone feel  at home and keep the group friendly.

You will need a YAHOO! ID if you wish to use the group website and utilities. These are easily obtained and , once again , are FREE!

he Yahoo! group contains many different features which are available to all members. 

The MESSAGES section is where the 'chat' of the group takes place. The 'chat' is in the form of e-mails or typed messages between members and it is the liveliest place in the group.

The CHAT section is on-line and live. You can chat live ( in real-time text ) with other members who are logged into CHAT. Unlike other chat rooms you are quite secure in here since only members can access it.

FILES and PHOTOS contain links , pictures and information posted by members.  There is a very useful price guide that a couple of hard working members have written that will be kept up to date with a price guide to Robertson's Golly Badges. You can use this section to post pictures of interesting items or files of useful information that can be used by all the group members. 

The DATABASE section is used to collect group information and contains a trading database where you can list your sales, wants , swaps etc. 

POLLS is used for competitions ( e.g. group badge design ) where members can make their views known.  Any member can set up a poll on any subject and they range from the serious to the occasional fun ones.

The CALENDAR is used to post details of upcoming events . You can set it up to send alerts out to the group automatically to tell members about events in advance.

Other options can be used by the Moderators who have full rights to alter the site, ban members and generally act as the 'GollyBC Police' :-).
